There was very little good to say about the place...the staff whilst not professional or terribly good at their jobs, were friendly.
The location was misleading, it is not in 'La Ciotat', but 15 minutes drive away! You even pass the 'you have left La Ciotat' road sign before you arrive there. The location is sited behind a construction yard and beside a train line/highway. The sound proofing was shocking from room to room, let alone the constant train noise. The room was dirty, there was no soap, no cleaning products, no care. We were expected to strip our sheets, take out rubbish and clean dishes when we left which we did (but clean the dishes with what???). The wi-fi did not work, so we had to pay a deposit for a cable which they balked at repaying. The meal at the diner seemed pleasant, but resulted in very upset stomach, and On paying for the dinner, even though they had credit facilities, they insisted on cash. Not good.

Located 5 minutes out of la ciotat, st. Esteve apartments are well priced and located to enjoy your summer holiday away from the crowds.

Free shuttle to the beach, pool, very friendly staff if not always efficient (had to ask twice for an extra pillow and towels initially set only for 2 people).Air con good.
Main bed ( fold down) was very hard with no head board so pillows kept disappearing. Family room for 2 +2 in the small print states children under 12 only or a €15 pp per night supplement is applicable for the exact same facility. I rang to check this out when I received booking as we were on a budget and this would have been a deal breaker - they said no supplement would be charged but this had not been communicated, so they still tried to charge it on arrival until we explained the circumstances.Location is not great - no shops within easy walking distance ( about 1km to nearest ) so in the heat you need the shuttle or car for everything.

large rooms, great kitchen area, spacious bathroom, lovely grounds, plenty of parking,.. very happy with my stay here.
It would be hard to get to if you don't have a car. Its about 4kms outside La Ciotat town centre. I had a car so it wasn't a problem but if you are using public transport it might be harder.

We stayed ten nights at St Esteve Apart Hotel. We wanted a self catering apartment as a base to explore the area. For that it was excellent and good value. It is situated about 10 minutes drive to the beaches and the town centre so if you want an evening meal in a restaurant, it is necessary to drive. We ate several times at the bistro on site. The food was good but the menu 'not extensive'. There's an excellent bakery 5 minutes drive away if you want fresh bread for breakfast or a picnic. The scenery leaves a bit to be desired and the noise of the railway and autoroute are noticeable but we preferred that to being in town with the town traffic noise and a view of the hotel opposite. After the rush hour traffic it was very peaceful sitting on the balcony. The accommodation was fine, not brilliantly appointed but adequate, tidy and very clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We would probably return if we wanted to stay in the area again.
The photo of the pool is flattering. It was clean but small and cold. The equipment in the fitness room was minimal and required some attention. The hotel site lacked any green, open space where you could walk and relax, away from your apartment.

Wifi "throughout hotel" - isn't. Sure, we got the wifi password, but it didn't work. Supposedly the wind interfered with the signal.

Too far out of town. Must have a car. Stayed for 3 nights and towels not changed during that time! Plastic sunbeds around pool were uncomfortable - no cushions.

It was my first experience in an appartement-hotel. I enjoyed the kitchen even if I realized that there is no oven after I bought a frozen pizza...I Used imagination to have it done. But, seriously, since it is an appartement, your are responsible for the cleaning of the kitchen and the appartement in general when you leave. They do the laundry, the bathroom and some touch up I guess, but how you will find the appartement depends on how the person before you left it. Mine was ok but...just ok. It is a confortable and quiet place to stay with a nice pool, free parking and free shuttle for the beach. I will not recommend it for a romance trip at all, or if you expect to visit the city by walking from your hotel. For romantic trip I really recommend to look for a place in Cassis instead, that little city was really much more attractive than la Ciotat.
